Love is action

When will we start living and practicing the biblical truths that we have heard so many times? When are we going to have a pro active Christian lifestyle that reaches out to people and helps people, instead of saying “I don't want to get involved or don't contact me again”. We are put here for the purpose of worshiping and loving God, to reach out to the lost with the saving message of Jesus Christ, and we are put here to love each other in the body of Christ. Unfortunately most people that I know have misused and abused the word love. It's so easy to say I love you, it's hard to use the word love as it was meant to be and that is a verb, an action word. How can we say we love Jesus and really down deep in our hearts we love no body else but ourselves. We are living in a spiritual fantasy. We can raise our hands, we can sing all the newest worship songs, and yes some can even speak in tongues, but most of the time all of this falls silent on God's ear. He will not receive praise an lest we are living according to his word and walking in the path of righteousness. |
Pure Joy

What a
joy it is to be in the place where you are sensitive to the Holy
Spirit. At a recent concert of mine, I had everything prepared, the list
of songs that I would do and my notes for the sermon. I went to my
laptop where I have my soundtracks completed one song. The Lord spoke to
me and said go to the piano and do this this and this. I said to myself
I hope I remember the words because it has been
years since I have done those songs. So I sat down at the piano as I
finished the first verse I looked up in the altar was full of people.
For the next 10 min. I sang at the piano as people were crying at the
altar. Now remember the service has just started and the Holy Spirit is
moving. I spoke on the great commission in a way that you'll not hear
most missionaries speaking about. At the end I said I don't know how to
close the service, the Lord said go back to the piano and start playing.
As I started the play again the altar was full of people crying this
lasted for around 45 min. To God be the glory great things he has done |
What has happened?

What has happened? Have we come to the place where it is easier to
text somebody that actually speak to someone face-to-face. Recently I
had a conversation with the person about ministry and I gave him my
card and I said call me, his reply was no I will text you. In the age
of social media it seems to me that we have become anti-social. It
seems the less physical contact we have with people the more we like
it. My question is what next? Will a pastor upload his sermon to
every cell phone in the church? Who knows. Also one thing that
irritates me is in the line of smart phones and very costly iPhones
it seems to me every time I call someone they never reply or never
have their phones on. Pretty expensive toy to have and not understand
how to use it. I say put down the cell phones find somebody who needs
a friend go to that person and spend some time with that person it
will do you both a lot of good. I'm pretty sure that's what Jesus
would do. One more question if Jesus were walking on earth right now
what type of phone do you think he would have if any? |
Thankful

Okay, what has happened to the United States of America? I am so
disturbed as we approach this wonderful celebration we call
Thanksgiving. 99% of what I have heard has been nothing but the day
after Thanksgiving called Black Friday. To me the term Black Friday
sounds like a demonic celebration. Something you would find people
celebrated in a Third World country. But no they say the biggest day
of the year here in the United States. People will stand outside
stores very early in the morning and during cold weather just to get
a special deal. Many of those same people when they see one snowflake
Sunday morning they will have an excuse not to go to church. Do we
realize the significance of Thanksgiving. The hardship, many multiple
deaths, diseases and sicknesses that the pilgrims went through. After
all that they were so grateful to the Lord, and they gave thanks to
him. This is why we celebrate Thanksgiving. Unfortunately the United
States of America has become so selfish, arrogant and greedy that we
cannot see the true meaning of Thanksgiving. So sad. To all of you
who will truly enjoy Thanksgiving I pray blessings upon you and your
family. Let us give thanks to the Lord for he has been so good to us. |
My Buddy Paul

My buddy Paul wrote in Romans 7:19
“for the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would
not, I do”. Verse 20 “ for if I do that I would not, it is no
more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me”. What in the world was Paul trying to
say. Well, it all comes under the word Grace. None of us are perfect,
everyone of us messes up, and all true believers of Jesus Christ are
traveling on the road called Grace. But one day when we stand before
our beautiful Savior and we fall at his feet we will indeed know what
perfect really is. |
Love is a verb

There are people who say they love us.
But I never see them at our doorstep, nor do we receive a phone call
from them. The word love is an action word. A verb. Without the
action part the word love becomes nothing more than a four letter
word. The word love has been thrown around and abused so much it has
lost its meaning. We say we love Jesus but there is no evidence of
the action part on our behalf of the word love. Today can we do
something, for someone that shows the true meaning of the word love.
I am sure glad when Jesus said he loved me, enough to give his life
for me, he did not say I'm too busy, don't have the time right now,
maybe some other day, I will call you, let's do lunch. He used the
action part of love to the fullest. |
Promises

You
may be going through a very hard time in your life right now. And the
question you may ask, or have asked numerous times where is God in
all of this? I want you to know that in the book of Isaiah, he
promised us that he would never leave us nor forsake us. He said when
you go through the fire I will be there with you. We must remember
when we go through the storms of life, and most of the storms cannot
be avoided, he promises us, he is with us always. God
keeps His promises -
“God is not a man that he should lie, nor a son of man that He
should change His mind” Num.23:19 When we think we are going
under the water in the circumstances around us he gives us super
natural Olympic abilities to tread the water to safety. |
A beautiful picture

The church is like a beautiful puzzle.
Everybody comes with their own piece and it fits beautifully somewhere
within the church picture. But sometimes a problem occurs. When someone
tries to put their piece in a place where it doesn't fit. And they try
so hard to make it fit. They have to understand that their piece was not
designed to fit in that place, but another place. They just can't
understand that no matter how they force
it, it will not fit. And when this problem is not fixed other pieces of
the puzzle are misaligned and end up leaving the church. And the whole
picture of the church remains unfinished. Let us have spiritual
understanding to use the gifts that God has given us, not the gifts we
wish for or think we have and in reality we don't. Let's complete the
picture for the whole world to see. |
The Master

I am often asked what type of instruments I play
and their value. I'm kind of hesitant to talk about things like that.
Because it's not about the instrument or the value of it, but it is all
about the player. I know people who have high-end Taylor guitars that
cost way up into the thousands of dollars, but when they play the
high-end guitar it sounds like a $50 guitar. In the hands of a master he
can take anything and make it sound
beautiful. This is just like coming to Jesus, it doesn't matter how
wealthy you are or how poor you are, when you honestly give everything
to him and make a full surrender to him and lay your all at his feet,
and take your hands off of it, then he takes over and will do something
beautiful with it. But there must be a full surrender to the master. |
Out of the boat

I love the account of Peter and Jesus
walking on the water. Peter heard the voice of Jesus. Jesus said come
to me. And Peter got out of the boat and started to walk on water.
But as soon as he was overwhelmed by the sounds of the waves, the
winds and other sounds he took his focus off of Jesus. Then he
started the sink in the water. God has done so many miracles for me.
But I had to be focused on him, and not be distracted by the sounds
around me. Do you want to see miracles happen in your life. Then get
out of the boat, or out of your comfort zone. Focused completely on
Jesus. And don't be distracted by the noise around you. |
